Organic and handpicked Tamarind pods are collected from old trees around Mysore region of South India. In South Indian cuisine, Tamarind is used in Sambhar (curry) and Rasam preparations. It is also used in chutneys, candies and certain type of pickles.Did you know that, Dhatus organic and handpicked tamarind is sourced directly from the farmers and is without any additives. They are manually de-seeded and processed in small batches. Tamarind pods are harvested just by shaking the branches, and then handpicked. They grow wild naturally and are organic in nature. Tamarind has a long shelf life and can stored for more than a year. Aged tamarind changed colour over a period of time. Fresh tamarind is brown in colour and it can turn to black over a period of time. Both, fresh and aged tamarind find their uses in kitchen and in Ayurveda for different purposes.
