Taste is good. Aroma is nice.It is not very spicy, which is good, you can always add more cilies to make sambar more spicy.Though it lacks a few ingredients which is cumin, casia,bay leaf, pepper.It adds onion in masala, which makes no sense. First sambar masala does really use onion, secondly not everyone likes onion and garlic in their food, my mother does not eat onion and garlic so she will not eat anything where onion and garlic has been used. There is no need to add onion or garlic in masala which is being manufactured for consumption of all.Cost of product is reasonable but shipping cost is too high.

Plus, a mixture of variety of vegetables makes it a healthy curry than anything else. However, the masala (Mix of spices) for Sambar preparatioin is challenging. Ciba Sambar masala is a 100g pack, which is an excellent masala add-on for Sambar preparation. The Spicy level is not very high, the resulting Sambar taste is excellent. Here are the list of the ingredients used? Turmeric? Coriander? Fenugreek Seeds? Curry Leaves? Bengal Gram Split? Onion? Mustard Seeds? Salt? Tamarind? Red ChilliWhile, adding Tamarind is new, while what is missing is Black Pepper and Cumin seeds. However, there are variety of ways to make Sambar powder, in earlier days our parents get this done at a grinding mill with everything hand made. For beginners this Sambar powder will give more confidence. The powder colour is yellowish which helps bring your Sambar look betterFinal words, I recommend buying this product. However I wish the seller keeps pricing competitively as other Sambar powders available are priced around 70/- on average for 100g packet. Delivery time could be shorter, 6 days seems much longer for a Sambar powder. Hope my review is useful Thanks
